The lay of the land for business events in the region

Theme park managers like to establish their properties with the leisure market before dipping their toes into the corporate events market – and Yas Waterworld (below right) is no exception.

After opening earlier this year, the 15-hectare site with funfair-type rides, surf schools and other attractions can now be booked out for corporate or association gatherings. ‘Pearlmaster’ teambuilding programmes can be arranged based on the UAE’s pearl-diving heritage.

The venue is among the offerings on Yas Island, which also include several hotels in the vicinity and located alongside the F1 Yas Marina Circuit (main image). When not hosting the annual F1 extravaganza in November or drag-racing and rally events throughout the year, the circuit’s press conference and race preparation areas are used as meeting and function facilities.
