The inauguration of the shopping center in Qatar took place at the end of October – beginning of November 2022. The Mall of Qatar gave us the privilege of entrusting us with the animation of its stand during these ten days. So for the occasion, our troupe of stilt walkers jumpers performed during the ten days to the delight of exhibitors and visitors. During the Qatar Squash tournament, we brought a Chinese unicycle troupe of 5 girls from the city of Huhhot. They performed just for the gala night and they flew back right after to China. Thanks to them and the client for his trust.

For the occasion, we had our one-of-a-kind magician from Korea, our unicycle team from England and our in-house team of 8 people from Monaco. We just had a unique and tailor made show in Qatar for an award ceremony. The winners of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC)’s Challenge 22 innovation award were announced during an awards ceremony held at Qatar National Convention Center followed by a big show. The mission of Challenge 22 is to build a lasting legacy of innovation in the Middle-East by nurturing promising ideas. Challenge 22 is an annual innovation award launched in 2015 by the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC), along with its Strategic Partners on this programme, Silatech and Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF). Following a successful roadshow introducing the concept to the GCC, more than 300 applicants from all over the region submitted their ideas for consideration. Good news for international travelers: Qatar Airways held a press briefing along with Airbus at the Airbus Factory in Hamburg, Germany, this week as the airline took delivery of its first A380. The airline has 10 Airbus A380-800s on order and is preparing to take delivery of four of them before the end of this year. Speaking at the press conference Group Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker said that the newly opened Hamad International Airport, the airline’s hub in Doha, has been specifically created with the A380 in mind, with five contact gates dedicated only for this aircraft. read more

Talents & Productions, the worldwide entertainment agency was just in Qatar with some amazing entertainment for the draw of the 2015 Men’s Handball World Championship. The draw, graced by the presence of HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al-Thani, was conducted by International Handball Federation (IHF) Commission Chairman Leon Kalin. It took place in front of a packed house made up of representatives from the 24 participating teams and international media delegates. Qatar‘s hotel scene keeps growing, and growing more international: Hilton Worldwide recently announced plans with local investors Al-Rayyan Hospitality to develop a new Hilton Hotels & Resorts property at Salwa Beach. No word yet on how many stars the hotel is aiming to have (or when it will open), but from what we’ve heard, it will have plenty of upscale elements to recommend it. The Hilton Salwa Beach Resort & Villas, Qatar is expected to be the largest of its kind in the Middle East and a first for Qatar. It will cover a full 257 acres of land and coastline in the southwest corner of the country, and will have a waterpark, a luxury marina and yacht club, a dive centre, cinemas, premier retail shopping and numerous restaurants. Plans to develop a five-star hotel and spa complex in central Doha on a site that contains natural woods have been met with protests from some Qatar residents. Construction for the Al Messila Hotel and VVIP Spa Resort is taking place at an area dubbed “Al Messila forest,” which features hundreds of indigenous trees and sits alongside the Doha Expressway, opposite the US Embassy. According to Qatari environmental activist Khalid Al Mohannadi, work on the site began earlier this year, and at least 600 trees have been dug up to prepare the ground for the luxury retreat. He said the copse included some 1,100 trees and has been there for more than 50 years. It continued to grow after its life as a plant nursery, and became home to an ecosystem of birds and other wildlife. However, the engineering consultants responsible for the development of the site said that they are protecting all the trees in on-site nursery, and the foliage will be re-planted once the resort is completed. Final preparations are underway for the opening of Doha Players’ biggest-ever production: the hit musical Les Miserables, which will run from May 13 to May 17 at the Qatar National Theater. A limited number of tickets are still on sale for QR75 and QR100 from The One in Landmark and Villaggio malls. Any remaining tickets will be sold at the National Theater on the night, on a first-come, first served basis. Amateur theater group the Doha Players have been planning the show for nearly a year. According to its director Mione Van Der Merwe, the production has involved hundreds of volunteers, who have dedicated large chunks of their time taking part in rehearsals, building sets, making costumes and performing music for the show.
