International Meetings Review was on location in Vilnius at the international showcase that looked at the latest trends for meetings, incentives and conferences in the region. We caught up with some leading commentators and stakeholders for reaction to the second outing of Convene.
First up, Sally Greenhill of The Right Solution discussed the emergence of ‘affordable Scandinavia’ since the departure of Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania from the Eastern Bloc 20 years ago. Pointing to the investments in education as being at the core of the regional success in key markets such as ICT in Estonia, Greenhill noted the support that the convention bureaus in the region are gaining from ambassadors in key sectors that are essential to securing international conventions and congresses.
