A wealth of key events have been unveiled by Britain for Events ahead of National Events Month in October.
The campaign, which has been split into four week-long sections, focusing on conferences, exhibitions, sporting events and corporate hospitality, will see a series of branded meetings, as well as a focused host event which will include a launch reception for the industry.
And the initiative will culminate in the #NEMO Celebration Event on 27 October at the Museum of London, organised by cvent in partnership with caterers Party Ingredients. The party will be set against a backdrop featuring the Olympic Cauldron used throughout the 2012 London Olympic Games.
“We’re delighted to have these host events representing our four categories,” said Alistair Turner, campaign director. “We’ve got events taking place across the UK and in every sector of our industry, and the marketing campaign will reflect the quality and diversity of events that take place every day in Britain.”
National Events Month kicks off with a week targeting conferences, congresses and large meetings, and the Liberal Democrats’ annual convention from 4-8 October at Glasgow’s Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) has been named as the host event.
Next on the bill will be exhibitions and experiential, with the IP EXPO Europe at London’s ExCeL being selected as the flagship event from 8-9 October.
Outdoor sporting, musicial and cultural events will be examined in the third week and the industry will turn its attention on 22-23 October to the Showman’s Show in Newbury, and the Association of Independent Festivals’ Festival Congress in Cardiff on 17-18 October. Both events will celebrate the industry with special guest speakers and a showcase of event services and products.
