The number of foreign travellers booking a room in Amsterdam or Rotterdam grew considerably last year. Data from Hotels.com shows Amsterdam is still the most visited hotel city for foreigners, but Rotterdam is growing fast. The Hague is a good third, followed by Utrecht, Eindhoven and Maastricht.

The number of searches for overnight stays in Amsterdam rose with 9 percent last year. The occupancy rate for Amsterdam was quite high as well (77.5 percent). Amsterdam got a lot of international attention because of the re-opening of the Rijksmuseum and the new King.
