New Crowne Plaza Barcelona Opens by City’s Convention Center

Just a few months after Barcelona hosted EIBTM at the Fira Gran Via Exhibition Center, the city is getting a new hotel close to the conference center, boosting its appeal for larger-scale events. InterContinental Hotels Group has just opened the Crowne Plaza Barcelona – Fira Center, which will operate under a franchise agreement with Hotel Fira S.A.U.

The 276-room hotel is located between the “Plaza de España” and Gran Via Avenue. With 32,292 square feet of meeting space, the hotel has the largest conference and meeting facilities across the entire portfolio of Crowne Plaza properties in Europe. It has 18 meeting rooms with a capacity from 10 to 1,200 people, executive private areas and a new Club Lounge. The Verdi Room (pictured above) can accommodate up to 1,000 people for a reception.
