The 17 conferences acquired in 2013 will bring a total of 13,700 participants, 52,700 overnight stays and an estimated economic impact of £11.6m.

The events were secured via a collaboration between the Firenze Convention Bureau (FCB), the Firenze Fiera Congress & Exhibition Center and local partners.

Carlotta Ferrari, director of FCB, said: “We are investing a lot in order to promote the city and help it to be recognised in the world of the international meetings industry. We try to offer the best solutions and interesting services to our potential client, offering them site inspections, information desks, best hotel rates and a series of online tools and services dedicated to the conference participants and aimed to increase the number of visitors to the city.
