Florence wins, taking home three new conferences for 2015: the WEEF World Engineering Education Forum (International Forum on Engineering Education), the International Congress of Acoustics and Vibration (International Congress on Sound and Vibration) and the Annual Meeting EMEARC (Europe Middle East and Africa Regional Council) by OCLC, the largest cooperative network in the world of libraries and cultural organizations.
Thanks to the efforts of Florence Convention Bureau, Firenze Fiera and local partners, the event will bring to the territory of Florence about 3000 participants including professors, researchers and professionals and will produce a total turnover of Euro 3,000,000, an economic impact of approximately 1,300,000 and € 11,000 nights among the hotels locatad in the city and its surroundings.
After being hosted in cities like Singapore and Dubai , the World Engineering Education Forum will arrive in Florence from 20th to 24th of September 2015 bringing, at the Congress Centre of Firenze Fiera, about 1500 participants from all over the world with the aim of encouraging interaction and dialogue between professionals about engineering education.
The event, entitled “Engineering Education for a Resilient Society “, will focus on the fundamental role of engineering education in the developing of a society able to adapt and deal with global issues such as climate change, economic and financial crisis, terrorism and lack of energy resources.
