Group hire of Hong Kong theme park shows strong growth
Sustained results generated from business meetings and events have contributed to record revenue at Hong Kong Disneyland, the theme park’s executives say.
Meeting, incentive and events bookings for companies have increased nearly four times since the resort opened in 2005.
Overall figures for the 2013 fiscal year show a record 7.4 million visitors to Hong Kong Disneyland. This drove revenue up 15 per cent to US$631 million with net profit doubling to $31.2 million.
Martin Leung, business solutions and events director at the resort, says several hundred groups have used indoor and outdoor venues at the resort.
“The growth rate has accelerated greatly in the past five years, with MICE bookings for the resort having increased nearly four times,” says Leung.
