C&IT selects the top conference hotel openings of 2013 from across the globe.
January
January saw the opening of the Hotel Nikol’skaya Kempinski in Moscow. Set in a complex of historical buildings the hotel has 211 rooms and three restaurants, as well as three meeting rooms and a boardroom.
February
The 13-storey Amari Doha in Qatar opened in February, complete with 120 rooms, spas, saunas and a Turkish bath, as well as four meeting rooms and the option of tailor-made menus, which include ‘brain food’.
March
Sofitel Montevideo Casino Carrasco and Spa opened in Uruguay in March. As well as 116 modern rooms, a spa and three meeting rooms, the largest of which seats 224, the hotel also has a large casino for post-dinner entertainments, including a VIP area for high-end players.
April
Vivanta by Taj opened on the outskirts of Delhi in India with 189 rooms and a Presidential Suite. It also has a banqueting hall for up to 600 people and three restaurants, as well as a spa. The hotel is just 15 minutes drive from Delhi’s international airport.
