ITB Asia was back at the newly renovated Suntec this year, welcoming delegates to its show floor and over 20 conference sessions from October 23 to 25.
The show attracted over 9,000 visitors, a 7 per cent increase from the 2012 edition. ITB Asia also featured Greece and Russia as first-time exhibitors and increased investment from companies like Brand USA in booth space, with the industry body stepping up in their outreach to the Asian market by bringing in representatives from Florida, Las Vegas, New York and more to meet with buyers.
At the opening press conference, ITB Asia revealed results from research firm PhoCusWright that showed that Asia Pacific has become the world’s first travel market, to the tune of US$351.9 billion by end of 2013.
