Olympic Games 2020 decision crucial for the events industry, says ATPI

The International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) choice of host city for the Olympic Games in 2020, expected this Saturday (7 September), is vital for the events industry, according to the ATPI Group.

Buenos Aires, Argentina will host to the 125th IOC Session on Sports, which will determine the future of the international sports landscape.

Jeroen de Roever, manager group sports strategy, the ATPI Group, said the decision is crucial for the future of ATP Event Experts’ business, as well as the wider industry.

“Previous conferences in the international sports industry have heralded a trend for major sporting events to leave the Western world and move away from the traditional markets of Europe, America, Asia and into new territories like South America and the Middle East,” he added.
