Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC), its venue manager AEG Ogden and Omran (the national tourism development body) hosted 15 global meetings specialists in the capital Muscat on April 6 and 7, 2014, to help develop sector-specific knowledge in the country. The two-day summit, held at the InterContinental Muscat, was organised in conjunction with the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), a meetings sector educator that represents more than 6,000 global industry leaders.
“The PCMA Oman Advisory Summit was the ideal platform to address key trends that will shape the future of the meetings and conventions industry in Oman,” said Trevor McCartney, General Manager, OCEC. “Its aim was to foster international relations, peertopeer knowledge exchange and connect the Omani community to a diversified group of global industry sectors. The summit has also prepared the groundwork to ensure OCEC is ready to become the world’s newest and most exciting convention destination.”
