Lyon, the city that generates the most revenue from business tourism after Paris, has seen an increase in levels of business tourism this year.
This is according to Anne-Marie Baezner, managing director of GL Events, which runs Eurexpo and the Lyon Congress Centre, both of which have experienced an increase in sales figures.
Over the course of the first semester of 2013, Eurexpo and the Lyon Congress Centre made €36 billion in sales, an increase of 11% on 2011 and 18% compared with 2009. Business has been boosted by a number of factors, including the introduction of low-cost flights to Lyon’s Saint-Exupery Airport.
