Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre is galloping into the Year of the Horse with a ‘double bill’ of conferences for two large US-based financial services organisations set to bring a total of 6,500 delegates to the Malaysian capital.
Angeline Lue, the centre’s director of sales and marketing, says awareness in North America of Malaysia as a business events destination is increasing.
She says this can be partly ‘attributed to our continuous engagement and creative marketing campaigns since we started reaching out to the North American meetings market three plus years ago’.
“We are now seeing the results of our efforts with the hosting last year, of major international gatherings such as the third Global Women Deliver Conference and fourth edition of the Barack Obama-initiative, Global Entrepreneurship Summit where US Secretary of State, John Kerry gave the keynote address,” Lue says.
The Million Dollar Round Table Experience (2014 MDRT Experience) takes place February 13-15 and is expected to bring 4,000 delegates. This is followed by Gama International LAMP Asia 2014, February 16-17, with 2,500.
MDRT is an association with nearly 36,000 members from the insurance and financial services professions drawn more than 430 companies in 78 countries. Gama International is an association dedicated to supporting the professional development of leaders in the insurance and financial services industry.
