Technology is growing in importance as a means of communicating events information, according to new research.
More than three-quarters of buyer respondents at last year’s China Incentive, Business Travel and Incentives Exhibition (CIBTM) said that they regularly used social media channels for events communication – and half even said that they were looking to introduce virtual meetings technology in the next year.
Another two out of five buyers told researchers from Reed Travel Exhibitions that they used audience response systems to keep on top of their communications, while just under one in three had even gone as far as to introduce mobile apps to keep attendees up to date on the latest news from around their events.
