Australia: Industry Groups Welcome Coalition’s Support for Business Events

The Business Events Council of Australia (BECA) has welcomed the Coalition Policy for Tourism, which was released yesterday by the Deputy Leader of the Opposition and Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Julie Bishop, and Opposition Minister for Tourism Bob Baldwin, in the lead up to Saturday’s Federal election.

BECA Executive Manager Inge Garofani said that although the industry body was disappointed the Coalition had not supported its call for a National Business Events Fund, it was pleased the Coalition had seen the value of the tourism industry and the potential of business events.
