According to statistics released by Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) today, Dubai’s hotels welcomed more than 5.8 million tourists in the first half of 2014 –the highest number of visitors ever achieved in the first six months of the year. In the first half of 2014, guest numbers across all establishments (hotels and hotel apartments) reached 5,828,449, an increase from the same period in 2013. Dubai’s top 10 tourism source markets remained unchanged bar slight changes in positioning. The International Special Events Society (ISES) EMEA has announced a new partnership with Cvent, provider of a cloud-based event management platform. The partnership will renew the ties that Cvent has with ISES UK and will create new ones with ISES chapters in Central Europe, the Middle East, Nigeria and Turkey. Cvent will roll out its services to the ISES EMEA region from 1 June 2014. As part of the partnership ISES EMEA will conduct promotional communications on behalf of Cvent to all members within the EMEA region.
