In April, 2014 Thebe Reed Exhibitions will launch the new Africa Travel Week in Cape Town, South Africa.  It will include the World Travel Market Africa (WTM Africa), IBTM (Incentives, Business Travel & Meetings) Africa and International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM) Africa.  The Event spoke exclusively with Carol Weaving, Managing Director Thebe Reed Exhibitions about what attendees can expect.   Q: Why has Reed decided that now is the time to launch Africa Travel Week?   A: Following the successful launch of ILTM Africa earlier this year, the decision to launch an all-encompassing travel week was based on several factors. Firstly, the African continent has one of the highest growth rates in the world, surpassing even Asia. New research reveals key to successful destination management

A report released this week has identified the major factors that make for successful destination management. If you’re that planner, you should know that the key to a successful product launch is interactivity, according to John DeLeon, director of business development for Motivation Through Incentives, a meeting and incentive company based in Overland Park, Kan. “Interactive elements work really well with a launch, especially when you can get the customer to try out the product on site,” DeLeon tells Successful Meetings contributor Alex Palmer. “If done right, it’s the kind of experience that will get them telling their friends or colleagues about the new product.
