Holiday Inn refurbishes three London meeting spaces

IHG chain Holiday Inn has refurbished meeting spaces at three of its London properties as part of a multimillion-pound development project.   The three hotels to be redeveloped are the Holiday Inn London Kensington-Forum, Holiday Inn London-Bloomsbury and Holiday Inn London Regent’s Park.     The project will refurbish the meeting facilities and breakout spaces of the three properties, as well as upgrading their wi-fi capabilities. The O2’s British Music Experience targets corporate events sector

The British Music Experience (BME), which launched in 2007 as Britain’s only interactive museum of popular music, has a 1,200m2 Finale Space available for private hire seven days a week. It can be transformed to host banquets for 288 people, conferences for 350 and receptions for up to 400 guests.   Daytime packages start from £79 per person, for a minimum of 150 people. Reception style events can also be held within the exhibition providing guests with a unique backdrop to their party.   The museum offers guests the chance to create a personal musical journey as they explore interactive exhibits using its advanced ‘Smarticket’. Visit England reports business tourism boost

Visit England has published its February visits statistics, which show lifts in both business nights and spend on 2012.   Business trips were the only ‘trip purpose’ catergory to see increases across all measurements on year-to-date (January – February 2013) figures. Visits were up 4% to 3m from 2.8m, night stays were up 18% from 6 to 7.1m and spend rose 31% to £827m from £633m.   On a comparison of February this year and last year, meanwhile, business trips in England were up 19% to 1.6m from 1.4 last year.
