EIBTM Industry Trends Watch Report Reveals Optimistic Outlook for 2014

The findings for the EIBTM 2013 Trends Watch Report have been collated and the full evaluation is set to be presented by Rob Davidson, Senior Lecturer in Events Management, University of Greenwich, London, UK at EIBTM, which is set to take place in Fira Gran Via, 19-21 November. The report states; ‘A consensus is forming that, leading into 2014, meetings, events and business travel will continue to remain critical drivers assisting organisations in their efforts to reach their strategic business objectives and effectively communicate with their employees, customers and partners worldwide’.     Davidson’s research will be presented on 19 November (11:30am -12:30pm) in the Lecture Theatre, and as a direct result of the sessions growing popularity, the findings will then be presented in a repeat session which will take place on 21 November (9am-10am) in Conference Room 5.2.     Read More

With under two weeks to go before EIBTM 2013 (19-21 November) in Barcelona, Event Planner Spain has interviewed Graeme Barnett, EIBTM Senior Exhibition Director (Reed Travel Exhibitions), for a last-minute low-down on the show’s 26th edition (the 10th to be held in Barcelona).   Generally speaking, how does the 2014 edition of EIBTM compare with last year’s edition in terms of exhibitor and Hosted Buyer numbers? “Our expectations are that the show will be similar in size to EIBTM 2012, which was our biggest event to date. Pacific World confirmed as EIBTM official destination management company

Pacific World, the global DMC, Event Management and PCO organisation has confirmed that they will once again be partnering with EIBTM, the global event for the meetings and events industry, to deliver operational support for all aspects of the show which will take place in the Fira Gran Via, Barcelona (19-21 November). Mónica Sala Reyna, Country Manager of Pacific World Spain, commented, “EIBTM moved the show to Barcelona ten years ago and we are delighted to have been working with them to deliver the show since then. Each year, the show attracts over 15,000 meetings industry professionals to the city. As the official DMC, our role is to ensure that each of those attendees receive the best service.” As the official DMC, Pacific World is responsible for managing over 5,000 hotel room nights, working with a list of official hotels to secure attractive rates for EIBTM delegates. In addition to this, the global DMC are also responsible for coordinating all official transportation services for Hosted Buyers and visitors attending the show. EIBTM Confirms Technology and Innovation Knowledge Line-Up

EIBTM has confirmed its Technology and Innovation Knowledge lineup, with some high-profile guests scheduled to speak.   All EIBTM attendees can visit the Lecture Theatre every day at 1 p.m. during the EIBTM Tech Hour. Julius Solaris, blogger, author and speaker; Event Manager Blog will begin the first EIBTM Tech Hour with his session, “Register Them Like a Pro” which will take place on Nov. 19.   “I will share the results of a research of 300 event registration providers and input from 200 event professionals, together with strategic advice on developing effective registration programs,” Solaris said.   Bo Kruger, writer, speaker and meeting designer from Moving Minds will deliver his session, “Is Technology Taking Over Our Meetings” on Nov. 20.
