The 2013 World Landscape Art Exposition will hold its opening ceremony on May 10 on redeveloped salt marshes in Jinzhou, Liaoning Province. It is the first world horticultural exposition to be held on the marshes since the completion of reconstruction and redevelopment work. The theme of the expo is “the city and the sea, a future in harmony.”
“Jinzhou is a central city in western Liaoning, and we hope to attract more attention by holding a large expo like this, showing the charming of our city,” said Wang Guangming, secretary of Jinzhou Municipal Party Committee on Wednesday at a press conference.
“After all, we want to develop our coastal economic zone by opening the door of Jinzhou.” He said.
The expo will take place on an artificial site constructed on vast disused salt marshes, allowing for a much larger-scale event than previous expos.
