Growth in Cape Town’s tourism sector remains steady, according to a recent report by Independent New Online. There are signs of revival in the city’s construction industry, with an almost 48% year-on-year rise in the value of building plans completed between July and September.
The city’s Economic Information and Research Unit recently reported that Cape Town accounts for more than 70% of the province’s economic output. According to the report, the city’s future growth depends on its ability to realise opportunities in industries where it has comparative advantage – tourism, finance and business services, for example.
