Norway has topped the meeting and incentive market in the Nordics, according to a recent report by the Union of International Associations (UIA), UIA International Meeting Statistics Report for the year 2013.
Norway tops the table for the first time among Nordic countries, while securing 17th place worldwide. The recent report is based on meetings and conferences organised by international organisations of more than 50 participants, and which lasted for more than two days in 2013.
The capital Oslo is the most popular city in the Nordics, and secured 16th place worldwide, having hosted more than 100 international meetings and conferences in 2013. Oslo hosted more than half of Norway’s total 196 congresses last year. The international meeting and incentive market generated £160 million last year in Norway alone.
