Prague Convention Bureau organises networking breakfast on “Why and how to get an international congress to Prague”

On Thursday 19th June, another educational and networking breakfast on “Why and how to bid for an international congress to Prague“,  was organised by Prague Convention Bureau within the Ambassador Programme, at the InterContinental Prague Hotel.   This time it was Prof. MUDr. Vladimír Tesař, MD., Head of the Department of Nephrology at the 1st Medical Faculty of the Charles University and General University Hospital in Prague, who shared his abundant experience in organising international scientific congresses and conferences with the participants. The event was organised in cooperation with the Czech Convention Bureau, with the support of Prague Airport, and held under the auspices of the Deputy Mayor of Prague Mr. Václav Novotný.   As a result of his activities in the field of Prague congress industry, Prof. MUDr. Vladimír Tesař, MD. has already been awarded many times at the Ambassador Awards Evenings that are organised annually by Prague Convention Bureau in order to appreciate the work of congress ambassadors. ICCA to Hold 2017 Congress in Prague, Czech Republic

After presentations from the three shortlisted destinations—Gdansk in Poland, the Czech Republic capital of Prague and Russian city St. Petersburg—ICCA President Arnaldo Nardone has announced that Prague will host the 56th ICCA Congress in 2017.     At the ICCA Mid-Year meetings at IMEX, Nardone noted that this will be the first time ICCA has held its Congress in the Czech Republic, and that this decision reflects the Association’s goal of further developing its membership in Eastern Europe.     The bid presentations of the shortlisted destinations traditionally take place during the ICCA Board meetings in the weekend before IMEX. Candidates are required to address ICCA’s strategic development objectives, to identify innovative ways to boost delegates’ business opportunities, as well as to address a rigorous list of financial and logistical criteria. “ICCA delegates are possibly the toughest clients any destination can host,” ICCA CEO Martin Sirk commented in a statement. “They are seasoned professionals, notoriously difficult to surprise or impress, but I have absolutely no doubt, based on the creativity and commitment shown by the Czech team, that they will be given an unforgettable experience in 2017.”     Read More

Czech capital gets its own showcase festival

Nouvelle Prague is the first ­ever showcasing festival in the Czech Republic, held on 1-2 November in the Staropramen Brewery in the heart of Prague. Our focus is on connecting bands with festival bookers, and connecting the Czech music industry with their international counterparts.  In our first year, we will feature emerging talent from UK, US, New Zealand, Australia, Canada and South Africa.     Nouvelle Prague takes place in the fabulous premises of the famous Staropramen brewery in Prague´s Smichov district. The live shows will take place in two venues: the afternoon showcase programme will be held at the Phenomen Club in the basement of the brewery and the evening concerts will be in the brewery courtyard, under a large heated tent to keep out the winter chill.   Nouvelle Prague will be headlined by Lucy Rose (UK) and Dilated Peoples (US).
